Der Grüne Punkt (The Green Dot) was founded in 1990 and is a leading provider of take-back systems in Germany. It offers companies a sustainable way to deal with waste and provides a nationwide collection of used packaging to recover raw materials for the economic cycle.
The new corporate headquarters in Cologne is an expression of their corporate philosophy, with sustainability and ecological solutions at the forefront throughout the process. The new 5,400 square meter workspace was designed by architects from the Pütz Group and provides employees with modern and more diverse environments for new ways of working and a range of workspaces for collaboration and communication.
The project consists of a series of Flokk designs chosen for their strong human factors as well as their sustainability. This is a key factor for Der Grüne Punkt in all areas of the project.

"Der Grüne Punkt stands for circular economy and sustainability. We have chosen Flokk because we share the same values: a consistently sustainable product philosophy up to and including return and sorting, resource protection through the use of recycled materials, quality, and, also, the best Scandinavian design for healthy sitting."Jörg Deppmeyer, Managing DirectorDer Grüne Punkt
A key requirement for the project from the outset was to apply for the "Deutsche Gesellschaft für Nachhaltiges Bauen" (DGNB) platinum certificate for the interior - the highest rating available for the prestigious national rating, which places high demands on a project when it comes to lifelong sustainability. The company already received the DGNB Platinum certificate in December 2020.
The HÅG SoFi was specified for office and production locations, a versatile task chair with intuitive adjustment options that are perfect for multi-user environments. As a high-performance chair with strong human factors and sustainable design principles, it was the ideal choice for the brand, and as it is available in a range of colours, they were able to colour match all elements of the chair to their corporate specifications. They opted for the mesh back version in black with green fabric.
The team at Der Grüne Punkt is very happy with their choice, as Jörg Deppmeyer explains: "When I work at my desk, I enjoy the unrestricted freedom of movement and the different sitting positions that this chair offers me. With the HÅG SoFi, I always sit comfortably because the chair's ergonomic functions are precisely tailored to my needs."
For meeting rooms and at high tables, the HÅG Capisco Puls has been created as an additional seating option. Our lightweight HÅG Capisco variant, the HÅG Capisco Puls, is made from recycled and recyclable plastics and metals, without harmful chemicals and entirely without glue - another chair suitable for sustainable workplaces.
The HÅG Capisco Puls is height-adjustable in many areas, making it ideal for sit-stand workstations. Its dynamic shape promotes continuous changes in posture and encourages movement throughout the day, which helps to improve the health and well-being of employees. One employee commented on the chair as follows:
"Our desks are height adjustable, even in the conference rooms on different floors. Especially during long meetings, I appreciate being able to change from a sitting to a standing position. The HÅG Capisco is perfect for this change of position because when you want to sit again instead of standing, it is also a very comfortable stand-sit chair."
