Company certifications

On a company level, our manufacturing facilities in Røros, Nässjö, Turek, and Mirfield are ISO14001 certified, with Røros and Nässjö additionally ISO50001 certified, ensuring our key facilities and suppliers comply with strict ethical guidelines based on the International Labour Organisation. Headquartered in Norway, we are a member of the Ethical Trade Norway Organisation, and all of our environmental efforts are published in a standardised Sustainability Report, and available for scrutiny on EcoVadis. ISO 14001

A system of internationally agreed standards on strong environmental management, helping organisations improve their environmental performance through more efficient use of resources and reduction of waste, gaining a competitive advantage and the trust of stakeholders.

It also includes the protection of both human health and the environment from dangerous chemicals, in line with EU REACH regulations. In fact, this means that ISO 14001 ensures compliance with the standards setout in the EU Legislation which forms part of the EU Green Deal, making Flokk future proof to future tighter regulations.

Annual Sustainability Report

An international independent standards organisation that helps businesses understand and communicate their impacts on a number of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues, allowing businesses to respond to the ESRS (European Sustainability Reporting Standards). Flokk’s Annual Sustainability report is compiled in accordance with the GRI reporting system.

FSC CoC certified

The Forest Stewardship Council Chain of Custody certification system underscores the commitment to sourcing wood from responsibly managed forests. It ensures the traceability of forest products from their origins through the entire supply chain. By maintaining this certification in our three key manufacturing sites for wooden furniture, as well as being members of FSC Norway, we demonstrate our dedication to stringent environmental, social, and ethical practices in forest management.

Product certifications

Environmental requirements are today part of virtually all public and private tenders. Flokk has carefully selected a handful of internationally accepted standards that together cover all areas and the whole life cycle. We believe that the main label of the future - which also ticks many important boxes – is the EU Ecolabel. We aim to have Type I ecolabels on selected products to ensure they meet a high level of sustainability within a given set of strict requirements. In addition, we need transparent & quantified figures on all products (EPD) to document the actual environmental performance no matter level. We also carry a range of other certificates, as explained below.

Type I ecolabel (EU-Ecolabel internationally + Swedish Möbelfakta for the Nordics)

Flokk has chosen to follow EU’s Type I ecolabel, to ensure that you as customers are provided a product by Flokk that meet the European environmental requirements. The benefits of the EU-Ecolabel are:

  • Internationally known, with a good reputation 
  • EU Taxonomy
  • Requirements follow Flokk's vision. 
  • Clearly defined requirements and limit values.
  • Fairly high market demand 
In addition, selected products in high demand across the Nordics are Möbelfakta certified.

Environmental Product Declaration (EPD)

An EPD is an independently verified document of a product’s environmental performance throughout its lifecycle – from raw material extraction to end of life.

The key environmental indicators found in EPDs are carbon footprint, energy consumption, and share of recycled materials.

Third-party verified and presented in a standardised structure, these documents allow easy comparisons between products to assess a comprehensive range of values.

GREENGUARD Gold

Our products are meticulously designed to prioritize the well-being of your indoor environment. By being GREENGUARD Gold Certified, our low-emitting offerings contribute to cleaner indoor air quality.

    Most of our Standard Fabrics Collection carries the EU Ecolabel. For fabrics without this label, we meet other certification standards to ensure their environmental friendliness and user safety, such as Oekotex 100, Blue Angel, Cradle to Cradle®, Greenguard Gold, Indoor Advantage Gold, and Möbelfakta.
